The UAE Government and the World Economic Forum (WEF) have launched a new phase of their comprehensive strategic partnership, aimed at strengthening cooperation and expanding public‑private collaboration.
The renewed agreement will see closer collaboration across WEF’s global platforms, including the continued hosting of Global Future Councils meetings, highlighting the long‑standing and deep relationship between the two sides.
The partnership expansion was announced during the WEF’s annual meeting in Davos, in the presence of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority.
The agreement was signed by Minister of Cabinet Affairs Mohammad Al Gergawi and World Economic Forum President and CEO Børge Brende.
Al Gergawi highlighted that the two‑decade relationship has evolved into a global collaboration focused on innovation, knowledge exchange, and preparing societies for the future.
Børge Brende noted that the initial focus will be on advancing public‑private partnerships to tackle key socio‑economic challenges, including developing people‑centred regulations for emerging technologies and strengthening economic resilience in developing markets.
The partnership will also support the use of Fourth Industrial Revolution centres, promote innovation in science and technology, and address global challenges such as water security.
Under the agreement, the UAE will continue hosting the Global Future Councils for the next five years, while maintaining an active leadership role across the Forum’s regional and global meetings, including future summits and the annual gathering in Davos.
