Following the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE has announced the allocation of $15 million in support of the 'Amalthea Fund'.
The funds will support the maritime corridor initiative between Cyprus and the Gaza Strip that was established to facilitate and coordinate the flow of aid arriving into Gaza.
The fund also aims to strengthen the capacity for the flow of aid, by providing flexible funding methods for countries wishing to enhance the humanitarian response.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) stressed the importance of immediate action for safe and sustainable aid delivery via land, air, and sea channels.
