At least two workers were killed and three others were injured after the roof of an under-construction school collapsed in Sharjah’s Kalbaa city, the General Command of Sharjah Police said on Sunday.
An investigation has been opened to determine the circumstances of the incident.
Colonel Dr. Ali Al-K-Hamoudi, Director of the Police Department of the Eastern Region, said all specialised teams moved to the scene of the incident, including Sharjah Civil Defense Authority, Kalbaa Comprehensive Police Station, Crime Scene Team, National Ambulance and Kalbaa City Municipality, shortly after receiving reports of the collapse.
The Colonel added the injured individuals were quickly evacuated and are receiving treatment for mild to moderate injuries, with first aid provided before their transfer to a hospital.
