Sheikh Abdullah calls for regional de-escalation in talks with counterparts

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, has discussed ways to intensify efforts to de-escalate regional tensions after Israel launched attacks on Iran during calls with a number of his counterparts.

During separate telephone calls with foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Iraq, Morocco, Kuwait, Oman, Cyprus and Bahrain, Sheikh Abdullah addressed the repercussions of the conflict on regional security and peace.

The discussions also looked at ways to prevent the expansion of the conflict in the Middle East, national news agency Wam reported on Sunday.

The calls also emphasised the importance of resolving outstanding issues through dialogue and diplomatic means.
