Traffic accidents in Sharjah during the 49th UAE National Day holiday did not result in any fatalities.
That's according to social media posts issued by Sharjah Police, which said most of the accidents that occurred were due to excessive speeding and drivers failing to leave enough distance between vehicles.
The Central Operations Room received 20,282 emergency and non-emergency calls during the long weekend.
The Police said the administration had redoubled efforts to enhance traffic safety on the roads over the holiday period.
