Sharjah Police has arrest a gang for stealing 1,840 laptops worth over AED 1 million. The four individuals were apprehended within 48 hours of the theft.
In a post via social media, Sharjah Police confirmed, "In less than 48 hours, investigations and forensic investigations elements of the General Command of Sharjah Police were able to arrest a nervous formation consisting of four people of Arab nationality involved in stealing laptops valued at about AED 1.7 million dirhams, and they were sent to justice.
"A report was received to the Central Operations Room from a person of Asian nationality who works in a company specialising in transporting and delivering goods, being robbed and frauded by unknown people who stopped him in an industrial area in order to check the vehicle claiming to be policemen, only to discover later that he had been scammed and stolen something. The vehicle contains goods for delivery, namely 1840 laptops."
Colonel Abdul Rahman Nasser Al-Shamsi - Deputy Director of the Investigations and Criminal Investigations Department of Sharjah Police added that after verifying the validity of the information, the elements of the investigation started their operations in monitoring and gathering interrogations, and based on the received data, research, investigation and close surveillance identified the criminals and where they hid the stolen goods, they were arrested.
