Public parking fees in Abu Dhabi can now be paid easily through the 'Darb' smart application, instead of sending a text message.
Motorists can use the available balance in their 'Darb' e-wallet to pay the fee for standard and premium surface parking spaces in Abu Dhabi.
According to the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC), the process can be completed in a few simple steps by clicking the 'Pay for Parking' icon on the app.
To enhance the digital customer experience, we launched a new digital service “Payment of Mawaqif Fees” using the “Darb” app to pay the fees for standard and premium parking spaces in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi without the need to send SMS messages.#Mawaqif #MawaqifonDarb #darb pic.twitter.com/rpUCamRwrl

The ITC clarified that the new service also allows the adding of vehicles not registered in the 'Darb' account of the customer, and the parking duration can be easily extended for additional hours.
Meanwhile, customers with 'M-Mawaqif' e-wallet accounts can use the balance in their e-wallet through text messages until their balance is zero, and then switch to the 'Darb' app to pay their parking fees.
They can also link their Mawaqif rechargeable cards and benefit from the service.
The ITC expects the new system to be widely welcomed by the public as it is much easier and quicker than current payment methods, which include - cash payments, Mawaqif rechargeable cards, text messages to 3009, or credit cards (which were only accepted for transactions worth at least AED 15).
