Residents and citizens will soon be using UAE PASS as digital identity to access government services.
That’s according to Smart Dubai, which announced details on the recent decision issued by the Strategic Affairs Council to mandate the digital solution as the only form of identity to be used.
Dubai adopted the UAE PASS policy as of May 1, in order to eliminate the need to physically visit customer service centres and submit paper identification documents.
The newly introduced innovative solution will provide users with an authorised digital ID, which can be accessed and presented using their smartphones.
It also includes a digital signature feature should they need to sign official documents.
Individuals will be able to access more than 5,000 government services by using a single username and password.
Authorities have clarified that work is underway to implement UAE PASS in both local and federal systems across the country.
