Rescue efforts continued through the night in flood-hit areas of the UAE, with Fujairah, Ras Al-Khaimah and parts of Sharjah marked the worst affected.

Sharjah Police said they will continue to step up efforts to assist those who have been impacted by the floods.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, inspected the affected areas on Wednesday.

Twenty hotels have provided temporary accommodation to over 1,885 people nationwide.

Residents have been urged to stay away from the affected areas and to travel only if it's essential.

It's the highest rainfall recorded in nearly 30 years during the month of July, with dams in Fujairah seen overflowing.
