UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin have held a phone call to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation.
The conversation focused on enhancing the strategic partnership between the two countries, with both leaders expressing their commitment to advancing collaboration across multiple sectors.
Putin thanked Sheikh Mohamed for the UAE's successful mediation efforts in facilitating the exchange of prisoners between Russia and Ukraine, including the latest exchange earlier this month.
Sheikh Mohamed, in turn, expressed gratitude for Russia’s cooperation and reaffirmed the UAE's ongoing commitment to humanitarian efforts and supporting peaceful solutions to the crisis.
The two leaders also discussed regional and international issues of mutual concern.
The phone call followed the announcement on March 19 of a successful prisoner exchange between Russia and Ukraine, in which 350 captives were released, bringing the total number of prisoners exchanged through 13 UAE mediation efforts to over 3,200.
