Three establishments have been shut down in Dubai for violating precautionary measures put in place to combat the spread of COVID-19.

According to a statement from Dubai Municipality on Friday, this included a fitness centre in Business Bay which was closed down in co-ordination with Dubai Sports Council for overcrowding.

Meanwhile two shisha cafes located in Karama and Riggat Al Buteen were also asked to shut shop for overcrowding and violating health practice measures.

Officials said that overall their inspection campaigns revealed that 98% of establishments have been complying with safety measures.

The total number of inspection visits in the preceding 24 hours was 2,228 during which 20 warnings were also issued.
