The search has officially begun for 2027 edition of the $1 million Zayed Award for Human Fraternity to honour people or entities for creating breakthroughs and making outstanding contributions to drive positive change.
The prize embodies the legacy of the UAE founding father the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan al Nahyan, whose values of humility, humanitarianism and respect epitomise the enduring ideals it seeks to celebrate.
Established in 2019, the award was announced following the historic meeting in Abu Dhabi between the late Pope Francis and Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Dr Ahmad al Tayeb when the Document on Human Fraternity was signed.
Since then, the award has recognised 20 honourees from 20 countries for their contributions across a wide range of humanitarian fields, including health, education, sustainability, refugee support, community development, food relief, and empowerment of youth and women, among others.
The award "continues to support high-impact initiatives that translate the principles of the historic Document on Human Fraternity into practical programmes that create sustainable impact in communities around the globe", highlighted Zayed Award for Human Fraternity Secretary-General Judge Mohamed Abdelsalam.
Nominations can be submitted through the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity’s official website until October 1.
