The UAE Ministry of Interior (MoI) hosted an awareness session on Thursday to discuss the dangers of drug use and its impact on families, society and the workplace.
The session was held at the Ministry’s headquarters theater hall, represented by the General Directorate of Police Judiciary, in cooperation with the National Anti-Narcotics Authority and with the participation of the National Rehabilitation Center.
Key topics related to the dangers of drug abuse and its negative effects on individuals, families, and society.
It also reviewed prevention methods and mechanisms to combat this issue, stressing the importance of community awareness in reducing its impact, as well as the essential role of the family in guiding and supporting children.
Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Undersecretary of the MoI, attended the session and praised the efforts in presenting constructive dialogue that supports raising community awareness of the dangers of drugs.
The session also featured Brigadier Dr. Rashid Ali Al Nuaimi, Director General of Police Judiciary, Colonel Majid Al Mansouri, Director of the Technical Office Department, Dr. Lamia Al Zaabi from the National Anti-Narcotics Authority and Dr. Mohammed Al Junaibi, Head of the Psychiatry Department at the National Rehabilitation Center.
