India’s Prime Minister has congratulated His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan on being re-elected as the UAE’s President for a fourth five-year term.
In a Tweet, Narendra Modi said he is confident that under his leadership, the friendship between India and the UAE will continue to grow.
Sheikh Khalifa is the incumbent President of the UAE and was first elected President of the UAE by the Supreme Council of the Union on November 3, 2004.
According to national news agency WAM, the UAE Supreme Council’s decision is in line with the provisions of the country’s constitution.
