The UAE has taken part in the second ASEAN-GCC Summit held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Representing President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, led the UAE delegation to the high-level gathering.
Held under the theme "Inclusivity and Sustainability," the summit brought together leaders from Southeast Asia and the Gulf region to strengthen ties and promote cooperation.
In his address, Sheikh Saud conveyed the UAE President’s greetings and called the meeting a bridge of opportunity and praised the growing partnership between ASEAN and GCC nations.
Sheikh Saud reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to the ASEAN-GCC Framework of Cooperation 2024–2028, which covers trade, energy, digital transformation and sustainable development.
He emphasised that shared values and regional collaboration are key to building a brighter, more unified future.
The summit was opened by Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, who highlighted the importance of joint action in the face of global challenges.
