His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai has congratulated Professor Omar Yaghi on winning the Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
The Jordanian-born scientist was previously honoured with the UAE’s prestigious Great Arab Minds award in the Natural Sciences category.
In a message shared on his official X account, Sheikh Mohammed said: "A year ago, we celebrated Professor Yaghi’s achievements through the Great Arab Minds initiative. Today, we congratulate him and the Arab world for this global recognition."
Sheikh Mohammed reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to empowering Arab talent, saying the region is rich in intellect and innovation.
He emphasised that initiatives like Great Arab Minds aim to restore confidence in Arab youth, scientists and the future of knowledge in the region.
