His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, praised the flexibility of the education system in the United Arab Emirates following the return to in-person learning during a visit to the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) on Wednesday.
H.H. Sheikh Hamdan was briefed on the latest developments regarding the safe and gradual return in various educational institutions in the emirate following the precautionary remote set-up brought about by the recent regional tensions, which have received more than 150,000 students in more than 450 educational institutions in the past few days.
The KHDA has been in accordance with the highest levels of readiness, and within the comprehensive safety guidelines for receiving students, educational and administrative staff, according to H.H. Sheikh Hamdan.
H.H. Sheikh Hamdan added: “We value the efforts of the teams at the Knowledge and Human Development Authority, and the contributions of the educational community during the past period.
"We also appreciate the follow-up and participation of parents, and the efforts of all those working in the education system. We also value the role of teachers in providing stimulating and distinguished learning environments in all circumstances."
During the visit, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan was also briefed on the latest developments in the implementation of the Dubai Education Strategy 2033 in its second year which aims to redesign the learner's journey in Dubai.
These include enhancing the status of the Arabic language, promoting Emirati culture within the educational community, strengthening parental involvement by raising awareness of their options and responsibilities, developing students' life skills, the "Stand Up for the Teacher" and "Teach in Dubai" initiatives to attract top teachers to Dubai and train Emirati educators, the "Astrolabe of the Future" initiative to support students in choosing the right career path, and the launch of a package of future-oriented initiatives and projects aimed at shaping the "Dubai Learner's Journey" across all educational stages.
