His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, on Saturday directed the launch of a second village under the Rashid Villages initiative in Zanzibar.
The project will provide housing, education and healthcare facilities, as well as economic opportunities for local families.
Its launch coincides with the 11th anniversary of the passing of Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and is intended to continue his legacy of supporting communities in need.
The development will be an integrated and sustainable village designed to provide beneficiary families with essential services and opportunities to support their long-term security and stability.
The project is being carried out under the supervision of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
Sheikh Hamdan said the anniversary was an opportunity to remember his late brother's generosity and the positive impact he had on the lives of others.
He added that the initiative aims to turn that legacy into lasting projects that benefit people and provide families with security and stability, while reaching new communities year after year.
