His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister, has approved a new package of initiatives aimed at improving citizens’ quality of life and strengthening social development.
The initiatives were approved during the first 2026 meeting of the Higher Committee for Development and Citizens Affairs in Dubai.
They include the second phase of the Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum Family Programme, designed to support the stability and growth of Emirati families, as well as the expansion of the Community Majalis Project to strengthen social ties in residential areas.
The meeting also approved the launch of the 'Vibrant Dubai' initiative to promote health and fitness among Dubai Government employees, and the 'Barzat Dubai' project, which will create community spaces to encourage interaction among residents.
Sheikh Hamdan said enhancing the well-being of citizens and families remains a strategic priority for Dubai’s development, describing the family as the foundation of a strong and sustainable society.
During the meeting, a subcommittee was also formed to oversee initiatives under the Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum Programme, which includes projects aimed at strengthening family stability.
As part of the second phase of the Community Majalis Project, four new majalis will open in Nad Al Sheba, Al Awir, Al Warqa and Al Barsha South, with five more planned in Nad Al Hamar, Jumeirah, Ghadeer Al Tair, Al Twar and Lehbab as part of the project’s next phase.
The AED 160 million expansion is set to begin in the second quarter of 2026, with completion expected by the third quarter of 2027.
His Highness also approved the opening of a second Thukher Club branch at Quranic Park in Al Khawaneej, building on the success of the first branch at Al Safa Park.
