Over three quarters of girls in the UAE go on to study at college, but when it comes to the workplace, they’re still in the minority. A ’Power Women in Arabia’ report on gender equality recommends the UAE should capitalize on its investment in education, and that’s a trend across the GCC.Currently only a third of the labour force in the UAE is female. But there’s some good news – 60% of GCC companies say they’re working towards gender equality, and over half of them claim they’ve increased their female staff numbers in the last five years.
