Dr Anwar Gargash, diplomatic advisor to the UAE President, has said that Sudan's "tragic civil war" must come to an "immediate end", reiterating the need for a "credible transition to an independent civilian government".
Posting on his official social media handle, Dr Gargash said Sudan has been "pushed toward the abyss when both warring parties overthrew the civilian government", adding that the country's "unity and the re-emergence of Muslim Brotherhood influence are major concerns".
He underscored that the "path forward is clear: an immediate ceasefire, accountability for atrocities by both parties, (and) unrestricted humanitarian access.."
