Conservation experts and nature enthusiasts have come together in a global 24-hour live stream for the first-ever World Species Congress, which kicked off on May 15.
Dubai's indoor tropical rainforest, The Green Planet, is marking the occasion with a major satellite event today, featuring engaging talks and interactive activities highlighting the importance of species conservation.
The World Species Congress is organised by 'Reverse the Red' – a global coalition that aims to stop biodiversity decline and preserve wild species. It's co-chaired by the International Union for Conservation of Nature and the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums.
The virtual event will convene over a 24-hour period, providing a platform for collaboration and a roadmap for anyone striving to create a healthier planet.
Participants will hear and share successful strategies that can be replicated and scaled to save species, with partners like The Green Planet playing an important role in amplifying and accelerating action through their satellite events.
