Police in Ajman have helped settle financial disputes worth over AED 36 million, out of court.
The authority resolved as many as 2,885 cases amicably, during the first nine months of this year.
The cases were dealt with at police stations itself, with officers mediating between the parties involved.
The majority of those involved had no criminal record and were businessmen or traders who were facing financial troubles.
"The police stations do not interfere with the interest of one party at the expense of the other, but work towards reaching an amicable settlement," said Colonel Ali Jaber Al Shamsi, Director of the Comprehensive Police Stations Department at Ajman Police.
