Emirates Airline has suspended all advertising on social media platforms as it addresses a wave of fraudulent adverts and warns customers against fake ticket promotions.

In a statement, the UAE carrier said deceptive adverts have directed users to purchase fake tickets, share personal information or click on malicious links.

They often use "lookalike links, branded visuals and unauthorised trademarks," it said, adding, "We are actively collaborating with platform providers to swiftly identify and remove these fraudulent advertisements, often within minutes of their appearance."

The airline urged customers to remain alert and verify any suspicious content.
