The Emirates Red Crescent has provided humanitarian aid worth over AED 602.4 million to Syrian refugees. Its humanitarian aid programme, launched at the beginning of the Syrian conflict, continues to help Syrian refugees in neighbouring countries. The Emirates Red Crescent has also provided vaccines to immunize 1.6 million Syrian children against polio inside Syria in co-operation with UNICEF, at a cost of AED 2.6 million. Its staff operates in different countries neighbouring Syria to provide the aid.
