The first international campus of the prestigious Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) has officially opened at Dubai International Academic City.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and the UAE's Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister, inaugurated the campus.
Welcoming the premier institution, Sheikh Hamdan said the launch reflects the strong and growing ties between the UAE and India.
He also highlighted Dubai’s emergence as a global hub for education, innovation and entrepreneurship.
The new campus supports the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 and the Education 33 Strategy, aimed at positioning the city among the world’s top three urban economies and top 10 student destinations by 2033.
The inaugural offering of the IIMA Dubai campus is a full-time, one-year MBA programme, designed to meet the advanced learning and upskilling requirements of professionals and entrepreneurs seeking to enhance their management expertise.
Structured across five terms, the programme will offer a rigorous academic experience and international exposure in a high-calibre learning environment.
In the first year, IIMA Dubai also plans to establish two dedicated centres of excellence - one will focus on case writing and development, and the other on start-up incubation.
As the campus grows, the institute will offer more academic programmes in the coming years.
