Dubai rolls out traffic upgrades on two key roads

RTA

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has added new lanes and upgraded entry and exit points on Ras Al Khor Road and Al Khail Road to cut travel time by 20 per cent during peak hours.

The new lane on Ras Al Khor Road towards Al Khail Road, increases capacity by 33 per cent and extends from Financial Centre Street intersection to Al Khail Road southbound.

The improvements on the exit from Financial Centre Street towards Meydan, as well as the entry to Ras Al Khor Road towards Financial Centre Street is set to reduce journey time from 15 minutes to 12 minutes.

The improvements also included adding a 1 km lane on Al Khail Road towards Abu Dhabi, increasing the number of lanes from three to four and raising road capacity by 33 per cent. This widening is set to reduce journey time by up to 20 per cent.

These rapid solutions complement a series of traffic improvements recently implemented by RTA in the area, including opening a new exit from Financial Centre Street to Ras Al Khor Road, widening Exit 25 from Ras Al Khor Road to Al Khail Road in the direction of Al Meydan Street, and upgrading several locations in Business Bay.
