Dubai resident Monica Verma was in for a special surprise when her simple text message to ARN's City1016 radio station helped her land her dream job.
That's right! She was taken on air by City1016's RJ Lokesh Dharmani after she thanked him for making her day by giving her a shoutout on air, especially when she was "feeling low".
"I called her back to cheer her up and asked what was bothering her," he recalled, not realising that she had been made redundant that day.
Once she told him about how her day had panned out, Lokesh decided to make her pitch on-air for a job as he was hopeful that one of City1016's many listeners could offer her a job.
Monica stepped up to the challenge and within minutes a listener called the radio station expressing an interest in hiring her.
A week, and a series of interviews, later Monica has landed the job.
"Here's the shining example of how a random message can lead to life changing events. Never shy away from reaching out," added Lokesh.
