Dubai Police has advised residents to hire temporary domestic workers only through licensed and accredited agencies, stessing that taking precautions can help protect homes, property and family members.

The advice comes as part of an awareness campaign led by the Crime Prevention Department within the General Department of Criminal Investigation.

Police said residents should verify the identity of any worker before allowing them into their home and avoid granting access to individuals whose credentials cannot be confirmed.

Homeowners have also been urged to keep cash, jewellery, important documents and other valuables in secure locations while temporary workers are present, reducing the risk of theft or loss.

Dubai Police further advised families not to leave children or elderly relatives alone with individuals they do not know or fully trust.

Residents are being encouraged to remain alert and report any suspicious behaviour involving temporary domestic workers or hourly staff.

Officials said home security is a shared responsibility and that awareness and vigilance are key to preventing crime and safeguarding property.

Dubai Police reminded the public that reports can be submitted through the Dubai Police smart app using the "Police Eye" service, or by calling 901 for non-emergency incidents.
