A traveller flying through DXB was pleasantly surprised when Dubai Police found her handbag that she had lost before boarding her flight.
The handbag had contained cash, a smartphone, and several "valuable belongings", Dubai Police revealed in its statement.
Officers stepped into action after the traveller contact the airport authorities about her lost bag.
Brigadier Hamed Al Hashemi, Director of the General Department of Airport Security, said all "necessary search and verification procedures" were immediately carried out.
Once the bag was located and secured, the Dubai Police contacted the tourist, who had already left the country. "We offered to send the bag to the country she had travelled to but she preferred to collect it upon her return," Al Hashemi added.
The traveller took to social media to express her gratitude to the UAE, Dubai Police and the personnel who assisted her.
