Dubai Police have issued a reminder to drivers via social media, emphasising the importance of safe driving practices. The reminder highlighted several offenses that could result in hefty fines and penalties.
Driving in a manner that jeopardises lives or compromises safety and security carries a fine of AED 2000 and could lead to the vehicle being impounded for 60 days. Additionally, sudden vehicle deviation incurs a penalty of AED 1000 and four traffic points, while incorrect or dangerous overtaking results in a fine of AED 600 and six points.
Moreover, overtaking on the hard shoulder of the road is strictly prohibited, with violators facing a fine of AED 1000 and six points on their license. In an effort to reinforce road safety measures, Dubai Police have heightened penalties for certain violations. Motorists making significant alterations to their vehicles that result in increased speed, noise, or disturbance while operating the vehicle face a steep penalty of AED 10,000 for the release of impounded cars.
Driving recklessly or posing a threat to life, property, or traffic safety within the emirate could also result in fines of up to AED 50,000 for vehicle release. Driving without a number plate or exceeding the permissible limit for vehicle glass tinting carries penalties of AED 10,000 for release.
Dubai Police urge all drivers to adhere to traffic regulations and exercise caution on the roads to ensure the safety of all road users.
