Dubai Police have seized eleven vehicles for various violations committed by the drivers including reckless driving, organising unauthorised rallies and endangering one's own life or that of others causing road disturbances.
Other violations include causing disorder on the roads, making unauthorised modifications to the vehicle's engine or chassis, disturbing residents, and littering on public roads.
Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, emphasised that police respond decisively to these behaviors. He explained that the law penalises violators by impounding their vehicles and pursuing legal action, underscoring that there will be zero tolerance for such actions.
He also noted that Decree No. 30 of 2023, concerning traffic violations and vehicle impoundment, penalizes reckless drivers who endanger their safety and others, imposing an AED 50,000 fine for releasing an impounded vehicle.
The Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police also warned motorists of all vehicle types against reckless and dangerous driving. He emphasized that the law punishes those who endanger their own lives or the lives of others and those who damage the roads.
Major General Al Mazrouei reassured the public that police officers will not be lenient in taking action against violators to ensure the safety of all road users. He also encouraged community members to report any negative behaviors observed through the "Police Eye" feature in the Dubai Police app or by calling the "We Are All Police" service at 901.
