Two attempts to smuggle drugs in Dubai have been thwarted by police in the emirate.
One person visiting a detainee was caught with AED 100 bank notes soaked in crystal meth while another was caught hiding illegal substances inside a contact lenses case.
In the first attempt, the officers of the Al Qusais Police Station were alerted by the suspect's behavior when he insisted on personally handing the cash over to the detainee he was visiting. Upon inspection, they detected the drugs.
In the second incident, a woman tried to sneak narcotics in through a contact lenses case that inspectors noticed was unusually heavy.
The three officers involved in the busts have been promoted for their efforts in maintaining Dubai's safety and security.
