A fatal lorry fire and collision in Jebel Ali has prompted Dubai Police to reinforce the importance of regular vehicle inspections and preventive maintenance.
The accident, which resulted in the death of one driver, occurred when a lorry caught fire while in motion and collided head-on with another truck.
Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, emphasised that vehicle safety standards must be strictly followed to prevent mechanical failures that could lead to serious accidents.
He also warned against unauthorised modifications, as these often contribute to breakdowns and fires.

Details of the incident
The accident took place when a lorry, engulfed in flames, lost control and veered into the opposite lane, crashing head-on into another oncoming truck.
The driver of the burning vehicle was killed, while the second driver suffered serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital.
Major General Al Mazrouei called on all drivers to perform routine safety checks to prevent such tragedies.
Additionally, Dubai Police continues to focus on road safety through educational campaigns and increased monitoring.
