Dubai Police have taken firm action against 90 individuals for riding electric bikes in a reckless and dangerous manner on sports tracks and dedicated scooter lanes at Kite Beach.
The bikes have been confiscated after what authorities described as a blatant and dangerous violation of public safety.
Police revealed that some of the modified bikes seized can reach speeds of over 120 km per hour, calling such behaviour a reckless disregard for lives.
They reaffirmed a zero-tolerance policy towards anyone violating safety regulations.
Inspection campaigns will continue across Dubai’s busy tourist areas, including Kite Beach.
Residents are urged to follow traffic laws — wear helmets, stay in designated lanes and avoid pedestrian walkways. Violators risk bike confiscation and legal action.
Dubai Police also encourage the public to report reckless behaviour via the 901 contact centre or the 'Police Eye' feature on the Dubai Police smart app.
Public safety is not a choice — it is a shared responsibility.
