A three-member gang who stole jewellery and luxury watches worth AED 13 million have been arrested by Dubai Police.
The European nationals were tracked down within 10 hours of receiving the report of the burglary.
Officials said the gang broke into a car showroom to steal the valuables and then fled on stolen motorcycles without leaving a trace.
"They took advantage of the showroom’s weak security measures and broke through its glass barrier in a record time," explained Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Criminal Investigation Affairs.
Brigadier Jamal Al Jallaf, Director of Criminal Investigation Department (CID), said they received an emergency call from an Arab national who found the items missing when he opened the store at 9:00 am.
An intensive operation was launched to identify the suspects and retrieve the valuables.
