Dubai Economy have directed all private sector companies to implement remote working for 80% of their employees from Wednesday, March 25 until April 9.
In a statement Dubai Economy, who are authority regulators of business in the Emirate said it was a precautionary measure to ensure public health and safety during the Covid-19 outbreak.
This now extends the earlier decision to close commercial activities and establishments, with the exception of essential service providers such as supermarkets, pharmacies and banks.
On Tuesday, Dubai Chamber launched a campaign to encourage private sector companies to implement remote working.
