Dubai Airports is set to scale up operations and increase flight movements, with efforts to return to 1,396 daily movements at DXB in the next few months following the full return of airspace operations in the UAE.

Speaking to Dubai Eye 103.8's Business Breakfast show, CEO of Dubai Airports Paul Griffiths highlighted that the airport had previously worked on 38 per cent of normal operations, with 541 daily movements carried out following regional disruptions:

He noted that the airport remained operational despite constraints, supporting the safe movement of 6 million guests and over 32,000 aircraft movements:

A total of 213,000 tonnes of essential cargo were also carried out during the regional situation, stated the operator in a news statement.

Griffths added that operations at DXB currently covers 51 airlines that serve over 192 different cities, with efforts to reach 240 cities in the coming months.

The airport's capacity is currently aligned to the availability of regional flight paths outside of the UAE, with ongoing coordination to optimise flows across neighbouring airspace.
