A unified digital platform has been launched in the UAE to support research and development efforts in the fight against the coronavirus.
The National Registry for COVID-19 will showcase and archive all scientific reports related to the pandemic, and will also help minimise duplication of data.
It aims to become a reference point for healthcare professionals and public health officials who will have easy access to daily updates and research analysis.
Researchers and specialists can also share their proposals through the platform, which can be accessed on the Department of Health’s (DoH) website.
DoH has developed the portal in coordination with the Advanced Technology Research Council and the UAE-based applied Artificial Intelligence (AI) company, Saal.
The platform will also highlight the vital role scientific research plays in better understanding the pandemic, the nature of the virus and how to fight it, and identify the best tools to treat and reduce its side effects.
