The UAE’s Ministry of Health and Prevention has announced the complete recovery of an elderly couple from COVID-19.
The 89-year-old man, who suffered from pre-existing conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure and cardiomyopathy, and his 72-year-old wife have been given the all clear after undergoing treatment at Dubai’s Al Kuwait Hospital.
It once again highlights the efficiency of the country’s healthcare system and the efforts of frontline medical staff.
The pair were declared free of the virus after testing negative in two consecutive checks.
Abdul Rahman Bin Mohammed Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention, congratulated the couple and their family, and thanked the medical team at the hospital.
“Since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, the UAE has been proactive and proved its readiness and capability to deal and cope with all crises and emergencies," he said.
