Dubai Police have issued a safety warning on the dangers of driving the wrong way after a biker suffered serious injuries following a crash on Umm Suqeim Street.
Police said the biker is undergoing treatment in the hospital.
The police, however, did not reveal when the accident near the Al Barsha South intersection had occurred.
Brigadier Juma Salem bin Suwaidan, Director of the General Department of Traffic, reminded motorists that the traffic violation carries a fine of AED 600, four black points and seven-day vehicle impoundment. And, an additional AED 500 fine for obstructing traffic flow.
He also stressed on the dangers of the reckless act and how it can cause severe traffic disruptions, and result in significant human and material losses.
The officer urged all drivers to stick to their lanes and to follow the traffic laws.
