Another Dubai Metro station will be getting a new name.
This time it's the Dubai Marina station, which has been renamed as 'Sobha Realty'.
It's after the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) gave the naming rights for the station to the real estate developer.
The renaming process is expected to be completed by October 10.
"The Dubai Metro Naming Rights initiative proved successful since launched by RTA in 2009 in a scheme considered the first of its kind in the world. RTA is always keen on striking successful partnerships with the private sector as it plays a vital role in stimulating national economic growth," said Ibrahim Al Haddad, Director of Commercial & Investment at the RTA’s Strategy and Corporate Governance Sector.
Last week, the RTA had also announced a name change for Al Rashidiya and Al Jafiliya Stations.
It is working closely with Hypermedia FZ LLC to change the names of the stations on outdoor signs as well as the smart and electronic systems of the public transport network, including the audio announcement on board the metro carriages.
During this period, Dubai Metro riders can seek assistance or clarification from RTA teams at the stations.
