In an urgent meeting in Jeddah, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation Executive Committee, attended by the UAE’s Minister of State, Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, demanded an immediate halt to Israeli aggression in Palestinian territories and the lifting of the siege imposed on the Gaza Strip.
In its final statement, the OIC called on all countries and the international community to promptly provide humanitarian, medical and relief aid and immediate opening of humanitarian corridors to ensure it’s delivered safely to the Gaza Strip.
The OIC stressed their condemnation of Israeli forces’ blatant targeting of Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital, which killed and injured hundreds of innocent civilians, representing a war crime and a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law.
The statement also emphasised the importance of preserving the lives of all civilians and rejecting calls to displace the population of the Gaza Strip.
