Abu Dhabi steps up drive against abandoned vehicles, boats

WAM

Authorities in Abu Dhabi are reminding residents, visitors and commercial operators not to leave vehicles or boats abandoned in public spaces.

Abu Dhabi City Municipality’s latest awareness campaign encourages owners and operators to relocate, maintain or properly dispose of vehicles and boats left unattended in public areas and residential neighbourhoods.

It says abandoned vehicles and boats can affect the city’s appearance, obstruct traffic and access to public facilities, and create environmental and public health concerns when dust, debris and waste accumulate.

The campaign titled 'Our Home, Our Responsibility – Our Neighbourhood Defines Us', is part of wider efforts to promote a clean, safe and sustainable urban environment.

The Municipality is calling on the community to cooperate and follow approved procedures for dealing with unwanted or abandoned vehicles and boats.

It says keeping Abu Dhabi clean and attractive is a shared responsibility — and one that starts with everyday actions.
