The UAE's President has ordered the release of more than 3,000 prisoners ahead of the start of Ramadan.
President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has also pledged to settle the financial obligations of the released prisoners.
It's part of an attempt to provide them with the opportunity to start a new life and return to their families.
The rulers of several emirates across the UAE have announced that they'll be releasing inmates who are serving various sentences.
