Three men have been arrested in Ajman on charges of stealing gold jewellery valued at AED 1.1 million and AED 40,000 in cash, just 12 hours after the crime was reported.
Ajman Police launched a search for the culprits after being alerted about the theft at a gold store.
Officers at the scene found the store alarms were turned off, which delayed the investigation.
The three suspects tried to evade the police by changing their clothes several times and donning masks.
The first suspect was arrested in Sharjah with the help of the local police, while the other two were caught in Ajman.
Following interrogation, the men confessed to the crime, with the police recovering AED 1.1 million worth of gold jewellery and AED 40,000 cash.
