As many as 29,000 UAE residents, who've been stranded abroad due to the latest travel restrictions, have registered with the UAE ministry to facilitate their return home.

The "Tawajudi for residents" was set up by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MOFAIC) to "ease communication and provide support" for overseas residents in emergency situations.

So far, MOFAIC has safely evacuated 34 UAE nationals from abroad.

Meanwhile, UAE citizens, who are still outside the country, are urged to contact the country’s embassies or the ministry’s call center.
