The number of residents with access to high quality health care has more than doubled in Dubai. This is a result of The Dubai Health Authority’s initiative to make sure every employee in the emirates has medical insurance. The second phase of the initiative, which covers companies with 100 to 999 employees, saw 600,000 people being insured, bringing the total of insured residents to 2.3 million. A Senior Advisor to Spanish pharmaceutical company Cinfa, Dr. Ahmed El Hakim tells ARN why the programme is important for the UAE.
