As many as 110 elite police teams from 48 countries will compete in the seventh edition of the UAE SWAT Challenge.
Organised by Dubai Police, the global event will run from February 7-11 at the Al Ruwayyah Training City, providing a platform for rapid response units to showcase their skills and innovation while competing for top honours across five intense tactical challenges.
The draw to determine the order of participation will take place today between 6:00pm and 8:00pm at the Officers Club in the Al Jaddaf area.
It will allocate the order and timing for the five key events of the challenge, which include: Hostage Rescue, Assault Challenge, Officer Rescue, Tower Challenge, and Obstacle Course.
Each event requires teams to complete it in the shortest possible time to earn the highest points.
The units must also showcase accuracy in hitting targets, using multiple weapons, carrying heavy dummies, navigating difficult obstacles, and descending from the top of the tower using ropes, among other tasks.
Earlier on Friday, some teams competed in a mountain bike competition at Al Ruwayyah Training City.
The 1.35km track saw five members of each police team race engage with multiple targets before continuing towards the finish line.
