The US military said on Thursday night it had carried out a fresh wave of strikes on Iranian military targets, marking the 13th consecutive night of American attacks.
According to US Central Command, the operation lasted more than two hours and targeted military command centres, drone storage facilities, communications networks, coastal surveillance sites and maritime capabilities.
The military said the strikes were intended to reduce what it described as threats to commercial shipping and civilian vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
The latest operation came hours after President Donald Trump warned of further military action against Iran and the Iran-backed Houthi movement following an attack targeting the Saudi-flagged vessel Encelia in the Red Sea.
The conflict has expanded since US and Israeli military operations against Iran began in late February, raising concerns over regional security and the safety of key global shipping routes.
